How to NOT get banned on MySpace

No matter what Bot you use to auto-add friends or to send automatic messages to people on MySpace, it is important to use it correctly. Using a Bot incorrectly is:

  1. Not Effective. Sending out a million friend requests or messages will get you nowhere in terms of marketing your band, business or social group.
  2. Dangerous. If you're not careful, no matter which Bot you use, MySpace will take steps to prevent you from using it.
  3. Annoying. Do you like spam? Neither do we. We don't encourage anyone to use these programs for spam, but there are some really good, useful, effective and legitimate ways to use Bots like FriendBlaster Pro, Easy Adder and Online Community Suite to market yourself, your band or your business.

The Right Way?

First, get VERY specific in your targeting of profiles and users. There are so many search options available, take a little time to narrow down your list to just the people that you know would really enjoy whatever you're trying to share with them. This is the first and most important step. Sending your message to 50,000 "slightly targeted" users is LESS effective than sending it to 500 "extremely targeted" users.

Second, know your limits. No matter which program you use, don't exceed 200 friend requests per day. You'll hear other numbers out there, but really there is no good reason to exceed 200. Why? Because with features like Multiple-Chaining you can duplicate your profile and send messages from each one 200 times! So lets say you made 10 duplicate profiles, you could send out 2000 requests per day. And since you never exceeded 200 on any account, your risk of repercussions from MySpace is minimal.

Third, make sure to follow up! When new friends start getting added to your profile, be sure to send them follow-up messages and comments. Don't overdo it, don't spam, but be sure to say "Thanks for the Add" and write a little message. The care taken in reaching out even for just a minute will be very worthwhile. Remember, with bots its very easy to do this step automatically, so the effort is next-to-none.

Fourth, be sure to use Anti-Flood. With the Timed Bulletins feature, you can set up a bulletin to be sent out however many times you want at specific intervals. For example, you could send out the same bulletin ten times, once every hour. It's important to use the Anti-Flood feature in your MySpace Bot so that your bulletin doesn't show up more than once in anyone's Bulletin Board. This is annoying and obvious marketing, and they will never look at your bulletin. Anti-Flood deletes the old bulletin before posting the new one, so you're always ON the bulletin board, but only ONCE.
